Our Strategy

The strategic direction of Marketing Greece is guided by the National Tourism Strategy, with which it is fully aligned, thus supporting its development. In order to achieve its long-term goals and for the effective promotion of the Greek Tourism Product, Marketing Greece has set five strategic priorities:

  1. Creation of a modern and dynamic portfolio of tourism products, which will meet the current trends and lead to:
    - The overall improvement of the current Greek Tourism Product
    - The addressing of the seasonality issue
    - The increase of revenue and attraction of high-income visitors
    - The effective commercialization of Greek destinations and products
  2. Integrated and effective marketing planning & execution through systematic, targeted and measurable actions
  3. The design and implementation of product-based promotional activities using modern methods and tools, and the enrichment and systematic promotion of the “Greece" brand through structured, product-based communication
  4. Active management of the “visitor experience” in all stages of the travel lifecycle: dreaming, planning, booking, traveling, experiencing, returning home
  5. The formulation of the actions and the regulatory framework that will facilitate the improvement of infrastructure and skills of the Greek tourism industry

Tools for Strategy Implementation
The organization seeks to implement the above strategy through the following tools:

  • Effective Public Relations campaigns and dissemination of exciting, newsworthy stories about Greece
  • Extended Digital presence through a highly commercial platform (
  • Participation in international tourism trade event

More specifically, Marketing Greece focuses on the creation of a world-class website ( the development of digital media networks and the cooperation with leading specialized public relations agencies in target markets. Furthermore, it will play an advisory role in the development of a thorough branding system for the country and its regions, promoting tourism products by destination, thus optimizing the commercial management of the Greek Tourism Product portfolio.
