Another first for Marketing Greece took place between November 28-December 1 with the completion of a maiden group press trip for Russian media representatives to Thessaloniki. With the support of Thessaloniki Hotels Association, the five journalists enjoyed a three-day visit to explore Thessaloniki as a city break destination.

The journalists – from Buro247, Style, Collezioni, Voyage and Grazia – had the opportunity to take in Thessaloniki’s most notable sights, indulge in the city’s famous culinary delights and enjoy its unique nightlife. They were particularly taken by the spectacle of the Royal Tombs at the archaeological site of nearby Vergina, and by the rich history of Thessaloniki.

Marketing Greece, in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Hotels Association, is already planning similar initiatives promoting Thessaloniki as a destination to other international markets. First up, between December 5-8 a group of German journalists will be visiting the city.
