Με αφορμή την ανακήρυξη του 2017 ως Διεθνούς Έτους Βιώσιμης Τουριστικής Ανάπτυξης από τον Παγκόσμιο Οργανισμό Τουρισμού του ΟΗΕ, το Blogtrotters 2017 γίνεται πρεσβευτής της βιώσιμης τουριστικής ανάπτυξης και στοχεύει στην ανάδειξη και προώθηση των πρακτικών αειφόρου τουρισμού στην Ελλάδα.

Οι Blogtrotters που φιλοξενήθηκαν καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια του χρόνου, έφεραν στο φως πρακτικές βιώσιμης τουριστικής ανάπτυξης που εφαρμόζονται στην Ελλάδα, γύρω από τους άξονες του πολιτισμού, του περιβάλλοντος, της κοινωνίας και της οικονομίας.

Στο επίκεντρο των δράσεων βρέθηκαν η διατήρηση των τοπίων (νησιά, βουνά, υγρότοποι), η οποία επιτυγχάνεται μέσω της ανάδειξής τους, καθώς και των πολιτισμικών αξιών, προκειμένου αυτές να περάσουν και στις επόμενες γενιές. Πάντοτε με σεβασμό, πάντοτε με σκοπό.
